New to pool creation? A Splash Pool may be a simpler option. CLMM pools include more configuration choices and may require more ongoing review.

Prerequisites

Before creating a pool:

Both Tokens

Your wallet needs the tokens you plan to deposit into the pool

SOL for Fees

Keep SOL available for transaction fees and any required account costs

Initial Price

Decide the starting price for the pool

Fee Tier

Select the fee tier for swaps through the pool

Understanding fee tiers

Fee tiers affect swap fees paid by traders and fees earned by liquidity providers. Higher fee tiers may affect trading activity and LP returns.

Creating a CLMM Pool

Navigate to pool creation

Go to orca.so/create-pool, connect your wallet, and select Create Concentrated Pool.

Select your tokens

  1. Click Select Token to choose your token.
  2. Search by name, symbol, or paste the mint address.
  3. By default, pairs are created with SOL. Click SOL to select a different paired token.

Set the initial price

This is the starting trading price for your pool.Option A: Use an estimated market price
  • Orca may show an estimated price from available sources.
  • Review the estimate carefully and check that it matches your expectations before using it.
Option B: Enter a custom price
  • Type the starting price manually.
  • This may be used for new tokens without available market data.
The initial price determines where trading begins. If the initial price differs from wider market prices, arbitrage activity may change the pool price after creation.

Choose position type

Creates liquidity across the full supported price range.Considerations: Simpler to manage, but capital is spread across a wider range.

Enter deposit amount

Enter the amount for one token. The other amount is calculated based on your selected price range and starting price.
For custom ranges that do not include the current price, you may only need to deposit one token.

Select fee tier

Click Change to select a different fee tier. Review how the selected fee tier may affect traders and liquidity providers before creating the pool.

Review and create

  1. Click Preview Pool.
  2. Review all pool parameters carefully.
  3. Check the acknowledgment box.
  4. Click Create Pool.

Approve transactions

You may need to approve two transactions:
  1. The first initializes the pool.
  2. The second deposits liquidity.
Wait for confirmation before closing the page.

After Creating Your Pool

  1. Search for your token on orca.so.
  2. Confirm that the pool appears.
  3. Review the pool details and trading information before sharing the pool with others.
If your token shows a warning triangle:
  • It may not be on the Orca Token List.
  • Trading may still be available, but token display information may be limited.

Troubleshooting

  • Check that your wallet has enough of the tokens you are depositing.
  • Keep SOL available for transaction fees and any required account costs.
  • Review the slippage setting and transaction details.
  • Check that you have enough SOL for fees.
  • Network congestion or changed pool conditions may cause transactions to fail.
  • Wait a few minutes for indexing.
  • Refresh the page.
  • Clear your browser cache if needed.
This may happen if:
  • The initial price differed from wider market prices.
  • Trading or arbitrage activity changed the pool price.
  • The selected starting price or deposit amounts did not match your intended pool setup.
Review the initial price carefully before creating future pools.
