Pool rewards allow projects or other reward providers to distribute tokens to eligible liquidity providers in an Orca pool over a set period. Rewards are reviewed and coordinated with Orca. Adding rewards does not guarantee liquidity, trading activity, price impact, route availability, or LP participation.

How rewards work

When rewards are added to a pool:
  1. A reward provider supplies tokens to be distributed over a set period.
  2. Eligible liquidity providers may accrue a share of rewards.
  3. Rewards are calculated based on the reward configuration and eligible liquidity.
  4. Liquidity providers can claim accrued rewards through the Orca interface.

What rewards may affect

Prerequisites

Before requesting rewards, prepare the following:
  1. An existing pool — Rewards are added to existing Orca pools.
  2. Reward tokens — These are the tokens to be distributed.
  3. Token list status — The reward token may need to be on the Orca Token List.
  4. Orca coordination — Rewards require review and coordination with Orca.

Process overview

Adding rewards involves coordination with Orca. The general flow is:

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Prepare your information

Gather the following details:

Step 2: Check token list status

The reward token may need to be on the Orca Token List before rewards can be configured.
  • Already listed? Continue to Step 3.
  • Not listed? Submit token information for review: Orca Token List.
Include your contact details in the token list request if you also plan to request rewards.

Step 3: Contact Orca

Reach out through one of these channels:
  1. In-app Support — Use the Support button in the wallet menu.
  2. Community — Reach out on Discord or Telegram.
  3. Existing channels — Use an existing communication channel with the Orca team, if you have one.
Include the following in your message:

Step 4: Wait for review

The Orca team will review the request and may follow up to:
  1. Confirm whether the requested reward setup can be supported.
  2. Provide transfer instructions if the request proceeds.
  3. Confirm the proposed start date and reward duration.
Review timing may vary based on request completeness, queue, and any follow-up information required.

Step 5: Transfer reward tokens

If Orca confirms that the reward setup can proceed:
  1. Transfer the reward tokens to the address provided by Orca.
  2. Send the transaction signature to Orca.
  3. Wait for confirmation that the transfer was received.
Only transfer reward tokens to an address provided through an official Orca support or communication channel.

Step 6: Rewards are activated

After Orca configures the rewards:
  1. Reward information may appear in the Orca interface.
  2. Eligible liquidity providers may begin accruing rewards according to the reward configuration.
  3. Rewards are distributed over the configured duration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add multiple reward tokens?

Some pools may support multiple reward tokens. Contact Orca to review the requested setup.

Reward programs generally cannot be canceled early once configured. Review the token amount and duration carefully before proceeding. Contact Orca to discuss edge cases.
