TL;DR
Users may need to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) and other eligibility verifications before they can trade certain tokens on Orca. Orca does not run or manage any of those verification processes. Asset issuers are responsible for establishing the eligibility requirements, as well as collecting and verifying user information to confirm eligibility. Asset issuers may run the eligibility verification process themselves or utilize various third-parties to manage those processes and, accordingly, are subject to such third-parties’ policies, terms and conditions. Orca does not and will never collect any user information in connection with determining eligibility for a user to trade tokens. Users should confirm that they are providing their information to the correct parties. Not all users are eligible to trade all tokens. Some tokens may only be available to certain users, such as accredited investors, users in supported jurisdictions, or users who have completed the required verification steps. Orca may restrict access to buying or selling certain tokens where KYC, eligibility, or other access requirements apply. What is KYC?
KYC, or Know Your Customer, is an identity verification process that may be required before a user can access certain tokens, pools, products, or features. KYC involves providing information or documentation to verify your identity, location. In addition to KYC, certain assets may set additional eligibility requirements including individual income, net worth, professional certifications, and other criteria as determined by the issuer. The specific information required may vary depending on the token, token issuer, the applicable requirements which may be necessary pursuant to local law, and the verification provider. Why KYC or other eligibility verification may be required
Some tokens may be subject to access requirements that limit who can buy, sell, or otherwise interact with them. These requirements may be based on factors such as:- identity verification
- jurisdiction or location
- accredited investor status
- regulatory or compliance requirements
- token issuer requirements
- policies set by third-party verification providers
External verification providers
KYC or eligibility checks are managed by third parties chosen by token issuers. If you complete KYC or other eligibility verification processes through an such third parties, your use of that provider’s services are governed by their own terms, conditions, policies, and privacy policy. Orca does not control the verification process, approval criteria, data handling, or decisions made by external verification providers. You should review any applicable third-party terms and privacy policies before submitting information.Eligibility to trade certain tokens
Completing KYC or other eligibility verification requirements does not guarantee that you will be eligible to trade every token. Some tokens may only be available to certain categories of users. For example, a token may only be tradeable by users who:- have completed KYC or other eligibility requirements
- are located in a supported jurisdiction
- meet the token issuer’s eligibility requirements
- are affirmatively approved by the token issuer or its external verification provider
Token availability may vary
Token availability may vary among users. A token that is tradable or visible to one user may not be available to another user, depending on applicable KYC, eligibility, jurisdiction, or access requirements. Orca may display notices, warnings, restrictions, or other information where a token has additional access requirements.Trading restrictions
Where KYC or other eligibility requirements apply, Orca may restrict certain token actions. This may include restricting the ability to:- buy a token
- sell a token
- trade a token
- access certain pools or features
- otherwise interact with the token
